We're here in Music City this weekend to see some chaos on the concrete. The Nashville Superspeedway is one of three concrete ovals on the schedule, with the other two being the short tracks of Bristol and Dover. And hey, who doesn't want a bunch of money and a guitar for winning? I've got to say, that's some trophy.
Hamlin got a good start to get the lead early-a little too good of a start. Everyone watching could tell he went way before the restart zone, so he was penalized and had to come down pit road to serve a drive through penalty. The debacle led to Tyler Reddick obtaining the lead. The competition caution came out on lap 36, which kickstarted some pit stops. SVG, Joey Logano, and Brad Keselowski took two tires to get ahead of race leader Tyler Reddick. SVG managed to lead for a little while before getting in a fight with Kyle Larson and losing multiple positions. Larson led until the caution came out for Connor Zilisch, who had a broken brake rotor. AJ Allmendinger and Riley Herbst stayed out while everyone else pitted, with a few cars getting two tires. Allmendinger and Blaney battled for the lead until the yellow came out for an incident involving Michael McDowell and Ross Chastain. Stage one ended in a one-lap shootout, and Allmedinger was able to triumph over Blaney to win the stage.
Larson led to kick off the second stage, until he got passed by Briscoe later on. Green flag pit stops ended up getting jeopardized after a spin from Austin Dillon caused a caution. Blaney lead on the restart and lead for a few laps before AJ Allmendinger had a brake rotor failure, triggering a yellow flag. Daniel Suarez would take the lead after deciding not to pit, along with others. Matter of fact, he would go on to win stage 2 after an incident involving Custer, Heim, and Gilliand which caused the stage to end under yellow.
To start the third and final stage, Hamlin would be our leader. Shortly after, Dillon got into the back of Keselowski to cause a wreck on the frontstretch. We restarted again, only to get another caution for a wreck involving Bubba Wallace, William Byron, and Alex Bowman. We restarted yet again, and you can guess what happened after. Nemechek got hit by Hocevar, causing him to hit Berry, and Gilliland to spin when everyone tried to avoid the crash. Finally, we get through more than three laps after a restart and Hamlin led until being passed by teammate Christopher Bell. Hamlin then came down pit road to start green flag pit stops. After the pit cycle ended, Zane Smith had emerged with the lead after choosing an alternate strategy. Bell came back and passed him with 12 to go, and then the yellow flag came out after the 17 of Chris Buescher went into the wall. With just four laps to go, the top three was all Joe Gibbs cars, with Bell in the lead and Hamlin and Briscoe behind. It looked like Bell was going take the win, but on the last lap Hamlin pulled out his Uno reverse card on the backstretch and went on to win the Cracker Barrel 400.
I thought I told you guys to give me ideas on what to put here, because I don't have any! Just leave a comment on want you want more of, or what you like, or... okay you know what I mean.
