The 2026 Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway

The Cup Series is back after a week off for Easter, and boy what a way to return. We're here at the Last Great Colosseum to witness the fight for the win in Tennessee, which is usually a good one. Let's get into the recap, because it's Bristol, Baby!

The start went well for Ryan Blaney, who was in the lead, but not so well for the 24 of William Byron, who started in the back, and eventually lost a lap to the leaders. Then, yellow flag number one waved as Brad Keselowski spun with help from Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Lucky for him, he was able to avoid making contact with anything or anyone. After the caution, there were a few pit stops, but Kyle Larson ultimately took the stage win.

In stage 2 William Byron and his team ended up two laps down, proving that this has just not been a good day for him. The caution came out again, this time for Christopher Bell who spun by himself off of turn 2. Some right-side damage will cause him to have to replace a toe link. Shortly after, SVG and others got caught up in a crash in turns 3 and 4, when the 97 spun and collected John Hunter Nemechek, Alex Bowman, and Todd Gilliland. Kyle Larson would sweep the first two stages, with teammate William Byron now three laps down.

With Kyle Larson still the driver to beat, and Ty Gibbs coming up towards the leaders, the caution is thrown when Kyle Busch gets help from Riley Herbst to get spun around, with Erik Jones sliding into the action. After that, Ryan Blaney managed to make his way around Larson, but he wouldn't be able to drive off into the sunset because Connor Zilisch produced another caution by spinning his no. 88 car around.

Ryan Blaney kept his lead going-that is until Chase Elliott spun off of turn 2, triggering yet another yellow. Blaney and Larson decided to get fresh rubber, which gifted Ty Gibbs the lead. After a good fight between Gibbs, Larson, and Blaney, Blaney would prevail to receive-another caution. Riley Herbst spun with help from Kyle Busch, sound familiar? After another 3-way battle between the trio of the 5, 54, and 12, there was a classic overtime finish with both the 54 and the 12 coming to the line side-by-side, with Gibbs prevailing.

Well, we all knew that Ty's first would have to come soon, and it came at Bristol. And speaking of first, I would like it if you, yes, I'm talking to you, would give this article its first comment.
