Welcome to the Lady in Black, as we head down to South Carolina for the Goodyear 400. This track holds a lot of history in NASCAR, with its 75th anniversary just last year. There are many different strategies for running this track, like running right next to the wall to keep maximum speed or executing the famed "slide job" move every now and then to gain positions quickly with the risk of your opponent getting a good run and striking back in the next turn. Let's see which one of these will take one of these drivers to the line first today.
Stage 1 was fairly uneventful, mostly all that happened was Joey Logano felt loose throughout the first stage and lost a lap due to it. Pit stops occurred; Tyler Reddick pitted late and fell back to 7th but then made a hard charge to front and finished 2nd in the stage with Brad Keselowski taking the stage 1 win.
Reddick had to pit before the stage started to charge a battery, but then we continued into the second stage. Then our first caution occurred when Denny Hamlin ran into the back of the 43 car of Erik Jones, leaving his driver Bubba Wallace with nowhere to go. After the restart. Brad Keselowski took the lead and pretty much drove off into the sunset. His RFK teammates then made it a 1-2-3 for Keselowski's team, but Preece wasn't able to hold onto it while Hamlin had a tire issue and had to come down pit road. Keselowski swept the first two stages at the Lady in Black.
Brad Keselowski was pressured by Chase Briscoe, who eventually took the lead. Shortly after, there was a caution for Riley Herbst who spun off the nose of Connor Zilisch. Chris Buescher didn't pit and got the lead, but Keselowski and Reddick were moving up the field. A familiar sight occurred when Buescher tried to come down pit road, didn't signal that he was coming in, and Reddick ran straight into him and sent the 17 into the wall. No caution, though.
Brad Keselowski got the lead of the race, but Tyler Reddick was close behind. Reddick eventually stole the lead from Keselowski on lap 266 and had a good chance of taking the win after many technical issues. Carson Hocevar was in 5th on lap 282, with the newest tires in the field. It didn't matter about tires, though, because Tyler Reddick claimed his 4th win of 2026.
Oh, about those strategies? Looks like team wall ride wins. I mean, that's literately Reddick and Larson's specialty, am I right? Tune in next time for Martinsville.
