Well, welcome to the fastest short track. This coliseum may be small, but when they say don't judge a book by it's cover in Bristol's case, they mean it. There's sliding, wall banging, and everything else. But hey, its Bristol baby.
The first caution was on lap 80 when Josh Berry had a fire in his right front wheel from all the rubber buildup, causing him to have to go down pit road. There was a lot of smoke in the cockpit, but Berry exited the car unharmed.
On lap 147, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun with contact from Riley Herbst on the exit of turn 4. His spin continued on the frontstretch, resulting in Micheal Mcdowell and Erik Jones to spin as well. Although some cars were involved, all playoff drivers made it through unscathed.
Playoff driver Chase Elliott was involved in an accident on lap 311. He tried to get into the bottom lane, which he succeded with. Well, kind of. John Hunter Nemechek ran into the back of Elliott, causing him the go nose-first into the wall. This put him in a tight points situation, and brought more drama to the race.
The final laps were chaos. Everybody was trying to get by the slow cars in the front, but Christopher Bell and Brad Keselowski had the most luck. When the white flag waved, Keselowski was gaining, and he tried to make a move in the final turn, but it wasn't enough. Christopher Bell earned JGR's third win in a row.
Well, on to the round of 12, I suppose. Alex Bowman, Shane Van Gisbergen, Josh Berry, and Austin Dillon unfortunately didn't advance. Next up is a track just introduced to the playoffs: New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
