The 2025 Daytona 500

We all have to agree, this year's Daytona 500 was pretty thrilling. Especially that ending, talk about a close call, I still don't know how anybody made it through that mess of cars. Well, it was one way to show how ridiculous the transfer from the banking to the flat concrete surface is. So how about we dive into the details.

First of all, we made it about ten laps before we had a rain delay, so that was pretty much a complete waste of time. So everybody at home was all excited to watch the Daytona 500, and then they had to wait hours before we finally got underway.

So after that we got our first caution for an incident on Lap 64, which was when the whole bottom lane checked up and Zane Smith bumped into Denny Hamlin. Hamlin was able to save it, but Smith, not so lucky. So he started spinning up the banking, and poor, innocent Josh Berry ran straight into him.

So later on in the race, William Byron and Chase Elliott started drifting towards the back of the field, and they made their way back up, but then for some reason Joey Logano tried to squeeze into a hole that wasn't there, so all of Elliott's progress was ruined.

Then, one of the craziest parts of the race, Christopher Bell got a push from Cole Custer, and all heck broke lose. Bell spun into the wall, then hit Ryan Preece when he was going 190 some miles per hour, and Preece did a full on wheelie. Then he flipped over, which just seems to be one of his habits at Daytona, and that banking is so insane, he flipped right back onto his wheels again.

And then, the white flag waved in the beautiful Florida breeze, one lap to go. Hamlin went to the outside of Austin Cindric, got by him, then Custer tried the same move, came down, and everything fell apart. I still have no idea how William Byron got by, and even furthermore how Tyler Reddick got hit by his owner-Denny Hamlin-on his door and still made it by.

Well, that was my summary of The Great American Race, which is almost always pretty great.
