You're driving through Alabama, and you happen to stumble upon a huge facility lying in the city of Talladega. Your wondering what it is so you ask someone nearby, "What's this?". "This," he says, "is Talladega.".
If you're thinking Talladega is just a city down south in Alabama, your crazy. High banks, empty fuel tanks, and playoff ranks. Everything you would want to have in a race, but you don't always get. Hey, what can I say, Talladega is special like that. The only problem with the playoff ranks part is you could easily be taken out huge crashes, and that could be a problem for drivers like Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, and Chase Elliott, who are currently on the cutline. Anyways, lets see what happens with these playoff contenders.

The first crash was a huge one, occurring on lap 52. Noah Gragson received a push-gone-wrong from the 43, causing the 4 to spin and hit AJ Almendinger, in which the 16 car's tire popped from the impact. Gragson's car spun back into the field and collected Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Justin Haley, and Erik Jones. Almendinger's car caught on fire on the frontstretch, and he didn't look great after he got out of the car, but he went to the car center, and came out fine. Chase Elliott was also involved, so that will hurt his playoff chances.
Big impact occurred for Chris Buescher's Ford when he got a push from the HMS Chevy of William Byron. The same incident that happened to Gragson happened to Buescher, an dhe went spinning into the inside wall, resulting in a massive impact. This crash would launch the overtime period in the Yellawood 500, and now everything was on the line.
We only needed one overtime session, and what an overtime session it was! The 5 was out front when we hit the backstretch, but he ran out off fuel, which impacted his playoff standings. Then William Byron was into the lead, but then he spun in the tri-oval, and then out of nowhere, Chase Briscoe decided he was going to Phoenix.
Well, we've got one more round of 8 race before the championship, and its at Martinsville. The place that's been here since the beginning, and it's still got a sky-high reputation. Wall rides and more slides, pack into a old complex in Virginia. Anyways, see you next week.
