We're heading up north to Delawere for some short track racing. Dover is a concrete track that is sure to give everybody a tough time. Mother nature decided to mess with the Xfinity race on saturday, causing a rain delay, and ultimately ending the race. Who can tame the Monster Mile? Let's find out.
The first caution was a competition caution, because practice and qualifying were rained out. This cause many cars to pit, including race leader Chase Elliott. He was able to maintain his lead, though. And after being pretty dominate, he was able grab the stage win.
We had a caution for an incident in turns 3 and 4, where Chirstopher Bell and Chase Elliott were racing side-by-side through the turn, and Bell spun in the middle of the racetrack. It was pretty close, but it was confirmed that there was no contact between him and Elliott. Bell spun by hitting a bump in the track.
On lap 337, the race was put under a yellow flag for rain. Unlike the Xfinity race, they got the cars rolling again and the race continued.
After that, Ross Chastain had an icident were he had some sort of issue, sending him slamming into the wall. Then there was more rain (Seriously, is mother nature messing with us at this point?) causing a red flag.
The laps were closing down, and Denny Hamlin was close to victory. He just had to hold off his teammate Chase Briscoe, which he succeded in and won his fourth race this season.
That race seemed very uneventful. I was expecting a little more out of that, but whatever. So now it's Ty Dillon versus Ty Gibbs. So who will win the battle of Tys, Ty or Ty? We wil see at the Brickyard 400.
